Self acclaimed King of African Borborbor SP Kofi Sarpong has advised his colleague Gospel musicians to stop branding secular musicians as evil.

According to SP Sarpong, there’s no barrier between Gospel and secular musicians so the former should rather be more interested in the latter’s content and lyrics.

S.P Kofi Sarpong made this assertion during a press conference at the Alisa Hotel, Ridge in Accra, during the unveiling of his forthcoming ‘SP Kofi Sarpong Live In Concert’ festival slated for May 28 at the National Theatre.

‘There’s no barrier between gospel and secular musicians. Even those we call secular musicians, we should listen to their content and lyrics. Listen to Nana Ampadu’s ‘Obra’ and you’ll realize that there’s a lot of sense in it. Anytime Kwaw Kesse meets me, he asks me when we are both going to collaborate on a song. Shatta Wale also meets me and says we have to do something. They understand what we do and so sometimes, we must also understand what they do. They are not evil,’ he noted

‘S.P Sarpong live in concert’ with the theme ‘A night of favor’ will be the first time Kofi Sarpong is putting up his own concert to bring together his fans and lovers of the gospel who seek to worship God through music.

The concert will feature great gospel musicians like Cece Twum, Nacee, Koda , Gifty Osei, Joyce Blessing, Francis Amoo, Abena Ruthy, Kingskid and a surprise gospel artiste from the United Kingdom.

Being one of the biggest artistes in Ghana, this concert is aimed at strengthening the artiste’s brand. Media Excel productions which is the record label Kofi Sarpong is signed onto outlined the promotional activities for the concert during the press conference.

CEO of Media Excel Productions, Kwesi Ernest noted that about 50 billboards will be erected in the city of Accra, and also, the team will be moving from church to church to sell tickets. SP Kofi Sarpong live in concert is slated for 28th May 2017 at the National Theater.

‘We will be in vans to promote the concert. We will have church to church visitations. We will leave no. stone unturned. This concert is a must; whether we have sponsor or not, it will come on. We’ll be erecting about 50 billboards in Accra. The entire city will be filled with SP Kofi Sarpong,’ Kwesi Ernest said.
