Selly Galley has said one of the major challenges she has to deal with in Ghana’s movie industry is mediocre movie producers.
According to her, they are always bent on lowering standards and quality in filmmaking to save cost of production. This, she cited, is part of the reasons the movie industry is still struggling.
Speaking in an interview with Glam Africa Magazine after she was asked about the challenges she has encountered so far in her career and how she overcame them, she said, “Mediocrity. Some movie producers want you to lower your quality and standards, just to save them the cost of production. In the long run, my team and I insist that the right things are done for the benefit of the production and our brand.”
Born Selorm Galley-Fiawoo, Selly is one of Ghana’s most trendy actresses.
The 30-year-old is also a TV presenter with the Multimedia Group. She has over time distinguished herself one of Ghana’s public figure with styles and has been consistent with her trendy styles on the red carpet.
No wonder she was awarded Glam Africa’s VGMA 2017 best dressed at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
She has, so far, featured in about 30 movies.
“Everything I do resonates with me – I leave a piece of me on every project I work on. Amongst the most remarkable are movies like ‘You May Kill The Bride’. This was Ghana’s first four cast romantic comedy which got me my very first best supporting role nomination at the Ghana Movie Awards,” she also told the magazine.
