Set up fund to assist distressed members – Kumawood actor to Actors Guild

Kumawood Producer and actor, Kwaku Twumasi has called on the Ghana Actors Guild to set up a fund to assist members in times of crisis.

The actor who was bedridden for four years disclosed that he received support from the leadership of the Actors Guild when he was down iwith stroke.

Speaking in an interview with Angel FM, Mr Tumasi said: “I received support from a lot of people. The leadership of Ghana Actors Guild (GAG) came to visit me and they gave me GHS200 and a phone. Seriously, they did very well because not all industry players will get GHS200 and Phone from the Association. I was even lucky to have such kind gesture from the leadership”.

He also called for a fund to assist members of the guild during crisis.

“We should make good use of the industry. The Association can set up a welfare fund to assist members in crisis”, the Kumawood actor said.
