Hiplife artiste, Okyeame Kwame says he is grateful to dancehall artiste, Shatta Rako for stirring up controversies any time he [Okyeame Kwame] releases songs.

According to Okyeame Kwame, these controversies contribute a lot to his success as he keeps trending all the time.

“There is something about Shatta Rako that all of us should know. He is on a movement to make me big. He has planned that every time I do an amazing song like this, he will come out and have a controversy so that I keep hitting so I thank you so much, Shatta. I’m so grateful for your action. You give me the opportunity to trend,” he said on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz on Friday.

Okyeame Kwame’s comments came in the wake of controversies surrounding why some artistes, particularly, Shatta Rako was not featured on the Ksi Boyz song aimed at protecting Kumasi and its artistes.

Shatta Rako is reported to have said on Kessben FM that he first conceived the idea of bringing Kumasi artistes together on a song to project the Garden City only to hear Ksi Boyz which features two of the artistes he contacted six months ago to work on the project, Cabum and Strongman.

“After sometime I wasn’t hearing from Strongman so when I reached him, he told me Okyeame Kwame had also called for same project so I closed the case on his side. I also called Cabum to ask what was going on because this is what Strongman is telling me. Cabum also told me Kwame had called to tell him about same project but when Okyeame Kwame called him, he told him he is even aware of our project because Kunta Kinte had already told him. These were the words of Cabum” Shatta Rako reportedly said.

It would be recalled that after Obour and Okyeame Kwame recorded The Game which sought to address issues affecting the growth of hiplife, Shatta Rako released his version Shame of the Game which featured Kapusta. Some have said the lyrics of the song was directed at Okyeame Kwame and sought to smear him with mud.

These events, according to Okyeame Kwame do not distract him but keeps him moving.
