Shatta Wale: “Samini is one musician I respect”

Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has confessed that he has a lot of admiration and respect for his arch-rival Samini.

The two singers have been on each other’s throat since Shatta, formerly of Bandanafame, got back onto the music scene from his musical hiatus.

The “Enter the Net” singer has been heard and seen on many occasions throwing verbal punches at the ‘Linda’ hitmaker; a stance Samini is on record to have expressed his disapproval of.

The ‘Shatta Movement’ king, who certainly seems to be enjoying himself at Samini’s expense was seen on Saturday December 14, performing on Starr FM’s ‘S’ concert stage wearing a T.Shirt bearing the name of the latter’s record label – ‘High Grade Family’ which thrilled the fans and teased unity rumours.

But in an interview with Citi FM’s Jessica Opare Saforo on Wednesday, Wale said the seemingly fierce standing rivalry between them is a business strategy he has adopted to keep their fans entertained.

“A whole lot of people are misunderstanding what I’m doing, but Samini is one musician I respect a lot….I really admire him a lot but this is business. I don’t have anything personal against him….”

He however, encouraged Samini to stop taking his ‘frolics’ personally and live in the moment with him.

“The fans always want to see us together…but the more they take it personal, the more issues come up….I’m trying to teach him how to do business to keep the fans entertained ”.
