Veteran Ghanaian actor, movie producer, and writer, David Dontoh says Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy must be punished severely to serve as a deterrent to other artistes who may wish to have a taste of what went on at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) last Saturday.

Though the veteran blamed both artistes for the disgraceful disturbance, he thinks Shatta Wale had no business going on stage without being invited according to ethics regulating stagecraft.

“If you are not a performer, you have no right to be backstage let alone on the stage. Because it’s an event that you are presenting and not just people just walking there hence if you have not been called or invited to come on stage you have no business or so ever to be there”. David Dontoh revealed in an interview with GBC radio monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been stripped off all awards they won at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), the biggest award scheme in the country.

The two have consequently been asked to immediately return to the organizers of the awards Charter House the plagues they received each at the night.

The decision was taken by the board of the award scheme on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at a news conference.

Both have also been banned indefinitely losing their legibility for VGMA nominations, selections and performance after careful deliberation and extensive consultation with stakeholders in the music industry.

Since the brouhaha, most people have called for authorities to sanction the two artistes especially Stonebwoy who pulled a gun at the podium after Shatta Wale and his SM fans decided to unlawfully climb the stage.
