Shatta Wale didn’t pay GHS10K fine – Spokesperson

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale did not pay any fine to the Oguaa Traditional Council as has been speculated in the media, his spokesperson Chris Koney has said.

Shatta Wale was fined GHS10, 000 for appearing late to a meeting scheduled between himself and the traditional council in Cape Coast prior to his musical concert at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday 18 February 2017.

Reports in the media suggested that the Oguaa Traditional Council felt disrespected after sitting for almost three hours waiting for the dancehall artiste hence slapped him with a GHS10,000 fine which, according to them, would serve as a deterrent to others.

But Mr Koney, in an interview with Ray Charles Marfo on Adehye?99.1FM’s Showbiz Arena on Monday 20 February, disclosed that Shatta Wale was pardoned by the Oguaa Traditional Council after they realised he was not at fault.

“That issue was resolved and Shatta Wale is not to pay whatever amount that has been quoted,” he explained.

“Yes, he delayed in getting there as a result of miscommunication between the chiefs and the organisers so it was no fault of his.

“Everything was resolved and the chiefs went ahead to pour libation. The show was a success.”
