Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, aka Shatta Wale, has received a Gold Creator Award plaque from video streaming giant YouTube for surpassing one million subscribers on the video streaming platform.
Celebrating this achievement in a post on his Facebook page, Shatta Wale's manager, Sammy Flex, indicated that despite having received the award some time ago, the artiste had been modest about it.
“This is for Shatta Wale’s YouTube page for reaching one million subscribers. My man has been hiding it somewhere in his room until I went to his apartment last weekend,” he wrote.
Sammy Flex congratulated fans of Shatta Wale (Shatta Movement) for their dedication and support, while also lauding the “African Dancehall King” for his hard work.
“Congratulations to all Shatta Movement fans globally for making this happen, and kudos to our boss Shatta Wale for always working harder than expected. The work brings the results we always enjoy,” he added.
With several hit songs to his name and various awards to show for it, Shatta Wale remains one of Ghana’s biggest music exports.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale’s latest project; a 14-track album is scheduled for release on September 20, 2024.
The album, titled SAFA, features singles such as ‘Killa Ji Mi’, ‘Minamino Sin’, and ‘Blessing’ featuring Amerado, which are receiving significant airplay.
