Dancehall stalwart Shatta Wale has been enskinned as a chief in Tamale, YEN.com.gh can report.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Shatta Wale will be officially crowned the king of dancehall (Dancehall Naa) in Tamale.
The enskinment was expected to take place at 2pm at the Tamale Chief Dakpema’s Palace on Friday, June 7, 2019.
True to our report, Shatta Wale has shared a photo from the ceremony on social media.
Posting the photo on Instagram, Shatta Wale was grateful to the chiefs and people of Tamale for the honour done him.
"Thanks to his eminence the Chief and elders of the palace in Tamale, the people and youth of Tamale for the honor bestowed upon me.
"I know your prayers and love will fortify this union and open doors for the youth and people in Tamale and the rest of northern people. I am humbled," he wrote.
The enskinment comes ahead of Shatta Wale's Storm Reign concert to be held at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Shatta Wale has for the past years called himself the dancehall king, but it seems he is now getting an official recognition for it.
