Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, known in showbiz circle as Michy has revealed that she suffered severe physical and emotional abuse at the hands of ex-boyfriend Shatta Wale.
She also says the abuse she suffered at the hands of the music icon reached a crescendo after their “staged” marriage proposal last year.
According to Michy who has a baby with the eccentric musician, the kind of maltreatment the “My Level” hitmaker inflicted on here leaves her with the firm belief that the whole marriage proposal was thespian.
Speaking in an interview on EWITHBECKS, Michy noted that, “I have achieved quite a few goals, personal goals like getting closer to God. I cannot leave my room today without saying a prayer or reading a verse in my bible. And I now understand when people say when you walk with God, you must walk in confidence”. She said, “I feel that the proposal was staged.
I just want to be very honest with myself because I did not know about the proposal on that day. It was a surprise and I said yes, but look at me”. ”You don’t propose to someone and then you torment them after. Right after the proposal, it got worse, it got unbearable, those are the only words I can use. Don’t be surprised if I become a pastor one day,” Michy told Becky.
On October 14, 2018, Shatta Wale, during his ‘Reign’ album launch at the Fantasy Dome in Accra pulled off one of the biggest surprises of his life when he went down on his knees to propose to Michy.
However, after the proposal, there were reports that there was an altercation between the two lovebirds forcing Shatta Michy to pack out of their home earlier this year.
Attempts to reconcile the two proved futile and Shatta Wale told Joy FM later in an interview in May this year that he was finally done with his baby mama with no hope of them coming back together again as a couple.
Shortly after leaving their home, Michy dropped Shatta from her name – now going by the name Michygh – and posted on her Insta-story “… no one wants to be in an abusive, draining relationship”.
In another post she added that “you have no idea how it’s like dealing with someone who’s always looking for faults on you, they don’t trust cuz they can’t be trusted, insecure, the ego, false accusations, battery, threats, no compassion as I don’t show him all the compassion.”
