The album of the moment, ?Sleeping Tablet? has been launched by a famous television personality, the one-and-only Ebenezer Ampaabeng of Ghana Television.
Ampaabeng whose news casting skills have always induced info appetite in viewers took the stage at the National Theatre and inaugurated the Lisarf Music Label before launching its maiden album, the near-perfect job of Omama Agyei the mind-blower.
He commended Omama for the scintillating tracks led by the title-track ?Sleeping Tablet? which is cast in compact disk (CD).
He congratulated Mr. and Mrs. Sarfo Abebrese on setting up the label and asked them to help out talented youth whose potential in music is well-identified. Mrs. Lily Sarfo is the CEO of Lisarf.
Mr. Ampaabeng called on society at large to assist the youth to identify and develop their talents to guarantee them a future of prosperity and happiness.
Ebenezer was, however, not alone. Another television and radio presenter of noble origins, Mikki Osei Berko, better known as Master Richard and lately as Dada Boat, urged those in authority to show more interest in the arts and entertainment with a view of developing the showbiz industry.
Mikki noted the entertainment industry in countries like the United States and Europe is a multi-billion dollar one, and has been so far ages now.
He lamented that the Showbiz sector in Africa is a dismal picture due to neglect.
While understanding the importance of the arts in the socio-economic progress of African countries, Ghana inclusive, he lauded greats like Professor Kwabena Nketia who are still doing their best to develop their best to develop the arts. Prof. Nketia was a special guest at the function.
Those who performed on the occasion include Randy Nunoo, K.K Kabobo, Tagoe Sisters, Koo Fori, Master Richard, the Anointed Queens Gospel Group, Rev. Yaw Baah Barimah, Asikafour, Aristo Jay, Kofi B and Collins Dumfeh, the national dance champ.
Bone Ben Co. Ltd bought the first copy of ?Sleeping Tablet? for 10 million cedis while Abedi Pele's younger brother, Kofi Ayew, a footballer in New York, USA, bought the second for 8million cedis.
