Award-Winning Ghanaian model, Edem Fairre who is currently embarking on a nationwide tour with her Edem Fairre Foundation educating people about depression and anxiety took time off during the official launch to speak to blogger Ghkwaku on her challenges being a model in Ghana among other issues.
Edem, who was recently sworn in as a UN Youth Ambassador for her works shared a very touching story where she revealed for the first time how she almost got raped by some pastors, family members, robbery issues and more difficult times she faced growing up which at some point made her so depressed that she almost took her own life.
She said, ” I tried to kill myself. I was robbed and almost killed, i sold on the streets. I felt like i was a burden to so many people. i felt so worthless.”
“I’ve had some attempted rape cases with pastors, the more reason i was refusing to go to church”.
She launched her “Depression and anxiety” project with her Edem Fairre Foundation a few weeks ago inside Airport view hotel.
