Ace songstress Becca has upgraded her membership of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to MUSIGA Pro status.
The enchanting songstress updated her status at the MUSIGA office last Wednesday in line with the new arrangement by MUSIGA to introduce a new category of membership in addition to the standard membership of the Union.
Some of the benefits of the MUSIGA Pro category include discounts at a number of hotels and other facilities in Ghana, access to finance and insurance and pension schemes.
According to an elated Becca, her decision to upgrade her membership is due to the fact that a strong Union is the backbone of the industry and it is essential for musicians like her to belong to a strong and united Union.
Becca otherwise known as Rebecca Acheampong, came to the limelight with her single You Lied To Me off her debut album in 2007. The song won her the Record of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards that year.
Since then, Becca has gone on to become a Glo Ambassador, an ambassador at the World Cup in Brazil and many other plaudits.
Becca’s vivacious and energetic style has won her many fans globally with performances in such far-flung places like Japan, Kenya, UK, South Africa, Nigeria and many other countries.
Since 2011, Becca has held an annual Girl Talk concert which features an all-woman line-up and won numerous awards including the Kora Award, 4Syte TV awards.
A graduate of Croyden College in the UK, Becca is a trained child care and education worker and recently added another degree from GIMPA as a first class project and management student.
