South African artiste, Tyla, has won the Best International Act award at the 2024 BET Awards.
Overwhelmed with joy, Tyla graciously accepted her award, wearing an elegant all-black dress for the occasion.
In her acceptance speech, she expressed deep gratitude to her team and family for their unwavering support, which has been crucial in her journey.
She also commended the BET Awards for their dedication to African artistes, providing a platform to celebrate the diverse cultures represented by musicians from the continent.
"I am very happy. Guys, I did not prepare anything but I just want to say thank you to my tigers, my family, my team. Thank you to BET for always pushing the culture," she said.
At just 22, Tyla's international achievement is remarkable.
She also won the 2024 Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys.
Her single, "Water," surpassed renowned Nigerian artists like Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, and Ayra Starr to secure an award that garnered significant attention across Africa.
Notably, Ghanaian artistes including Black Sherif, Sarkodie, and others have previously received BET awards.
The 2024 BET Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles, USA.
