Accra, Sept 4, GNA - A poetry club aimed at developing the interest of youth in writing was on Friday launched in Accra. The Spoken Word Poetry Club, would create the platform for unknown poets, writers and musicians to share ideas and find ways of harnessing their talents.
Mr Vincent Okunor, a member of the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW), who launched the Club, said poetry was a creative art, which should be used to foster peace among Ghanaians and requested members to use poetry to project Ghanaian cultural values.
"Poetry is not an ordinary writing but a material which is designed to promote the thought of Poets," he said. The British Council sponsored the launch.
