The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Musicians Union of Ghana, Kumasi branch has revealed that staff of the association always rent chairs for office activities.
Mr Agyenim-Boateng, well known as Ras Opo made the shocking revelation in an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM.
According to Ras Opo, MUSIGA has no office in Kumasi despite how strategic the area is in music development in the country adding that workers rent ‘common chairs’ before they can work.
“It’s a pity….. at the Kumasi Cultural Center, we don’t have an office. Our landlord has denied us entry because we have not been able to pay our rent. Even we have to rent chairs to sit on”, he lamented
MUSIGA has however introduced a new insurance policy for all members. With this, all musicians will have access to the policy to help them in their old age.
Mr Agyenim-Boateng also alleged that there are more corruption scandals at the office in Kumasi which needs to be investigated before MUSIGA can effectively function.
Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), is an umbrella group that unite all musicians in Ghana irrespective of their music genre. Bice Osei Kufuor, popularly known as Obuor is the president of the union.
