Fast growing pay-TV operator StarTimes Ghana has launched a 24-hour Ghanaian-content driven television channel called Adepa TV.
The new television channel which began operations on September 1, 2018 will be dominated by Ghanaian sports and entertainment programs most of which will be aired in the Twi dialect.
Speaking at the unveiling held at the headquarters of StarTimes Ghana in Accra, the head of Marketing at Startimes Ghana, Akofa Dzankui said that Adepa TV is an answer to calls by Ghanaians for a television channel that broadcast only Ghanaian programs on StarTimes.
Akofa Djankui added that StarTimes Ghana will work closely with movie and music producers to create content for Adepa TV.
“Our newest addition, Adepa TV is a country-specific channel for Ghana. Adepa TV will broadcast Ghanaian music, sports, movies and Twi dubs in high definition. Adepa channel is in HD and it’s available on both the StarTimes decoder and app. We will continue to work with the film industry in Ghana, acquire more local content and possibly commission filmmakers to produce specific contents for Adepa TV”.
StarTimes are the official broadcast right owners of the Ghana Premier League. StarTimes also telecast French Ligue 1, Belgian Jupiler League, Turkish Superlig, Chinese Super League, amongst others.
