Stars to celebrate Michael Moncar, Friday

Some celebrities will organise an event to mark one week of the passing of the late Ghanaian actor Michael Moncar.

The actor died last Friday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a surgery was conducted to remove a blood clot detected in his head.

The one-week celebration for the late actor, who was 53 on February 8, will come off at his residence at Dansoman Last Stop in Accra.

The event is expected to attract several celebrities from the entertainment industry amongst which will include veteran actor and friend, Fred Amugi and veteran actress Irene Opare.

Explaining how the Efiewura television series star died, Fred Amugi told Graphic Showbiz, a week before his death, Michael complained he was sick, Saturday dawn.

“His family took him to the Korle Bu Polyclinic where Irene Opare, myself and a few friends paid him a visit,” Fred Amugi told the paper.

According to Fred Amugi, Michael was then transferred to the Teaching Hospital after his condition became worse but died on Friday, February 8 at 5:00 am after undergoing surgery.

The family of the late actor is yet to announce arrangements for his burial.
