Radio personality and entertainment analyst, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana has described Charter House’s decision against the country’s two Dancehall music giants, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy as selfish, too harsh and unfair.

“I think the decision by the VGMA Board was too harsh and unfair”. He told GBC Radio in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com’s Syxtus Eshun.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been stripped off all awards they won at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), the biggest award scheme in the country.

The two have consequently been asked to immediately return to the organizers of the awards Charter House the plagues they received each at the night.

The decision was taken by the board of the award scheme on Wednesday at a news conference.

The two artistes have also been banned indefinitely losing their legibility for VGMA nominations, selections and performance after a “careful deliberation and extensive consultation” with stakeholders in the music industry. Charter House has said.

But responding to actions by the board, Abeiku Santana suggested the ban should have affected only the awards the two took at the night or a temporary one.

“The incident happened at the night with specific at the 20th Edition. In extent of withdrawing all previous awards that they have won I think it’s unfair. Secondly, the two artistes have apologized for their action that occurred over the weekend. Therefore I think that VGMA organizers including Charter House are being selfish here the same way Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were selfish in their actions”. Abeiku Sanatna said this on the Program “Behind the News”.

According to him, Charter House took such a decision just to protect its image in the face of international recognition and nothing else.

He also insisted that banning Stonebewoy and Shatta Wale indefinitely could affect the industry heavily, he however suggested a temporarily ban of between 2 and 5 years for the two artistes but not and indefinite one.
