After UK-based Ghanaian act, Fuse ODG took a swipe at the organisers of the BET Awards for what he describes as 'total disrespect towards musicians in the various International Act categories', BET Award winning act, Stonebwoy Burnington says no awards scheme is perfect.
Fuse ODG explained his absence at the event held last Sunday in a tweet saying, "Dear BET, the reason why i didn’t come is because you give awards backstage. You have no respect for our hard work and achievements.”
But Stonebwoy who jumped on KOD’s 360 Live to thank Africa, Ghana and Bhim Nation for all the support said everyone has a reason for whatever they do.
According to him, although the plaque is given backstage, it does not mean that nominees who were present did not know what they were about.
“There’s issues everywhere and every day and no awards organizer can get everything they plan to be a hundred percent. So you check yourself and see if you want to come or not. You the nominee has the best reasons as to whether you will attend or back off.
“But I’m here and I have my reasons to back my decision to be here and I trust he also has good reason to back the decision not be here. Aside that, no award can be hundred percent and that also doesn’t mean we the nominees that came don’t know what we are about," he said.
