Former Ghanaian soccer player, Anthony Baffoe has played for top soccer clubs on four continents; he has worked as a model, a television presenter on a German television channel and is one of the technical experts and advisers of the Ghana Football Association on international affairs! Anita went to find out more about this legend.

Comedian Patson (Ghana)

Anita met up with funny man, Patson, who has a one-man show in which he plays a succession of odd characters all relating to the difference and cultural richness of Africa. A really funny show worth checking out!

Design Indaba Cape Town (SA)

The Design Indaba is an annual event that attracts the world’s creatives from various design disciplines including fashion, publishing, film, architectures, craft, radio, advertising, etc. The Indaba was born from the upsurge of confidence in South Africa’s post-apartheid future in 1994 and takes place annually in Cape Town, South Africa. Silverbird Entertainment Centre in Abuja

Silverbird Group was established in 1980 with the aim of providing contemporary family entertainment and relaxation. There certainly was a big buzz in Abuja when its newest, trendiest entertainment centre got off the ground. Adaure attended the celebrations.

The Abuja landmark project includes a state-of-the-art cinema multiplex in the biggest shopping mall in Nigeria. Visual Artist Eugene Ankomah (England)

Fareed travelled to England to meet with Eugene Ankomah, a renowned visual artist born in the United Kingdom to Ghanaian parents. Eugene spent part of his formative years in Ghana, and returned to the UK at the age of 13. This multitalented Ghanaian artist continues to impress art lovers with his master strokes which translate into impressive works of art open to various interpretations. He is said to be one of the most prolific young Visual Artists in the United Kingdom with a wide range of artistic skills, craftsmanship and an extensive body of work covering a diverse range of art disciplines and techniques.

Launch of Beat99.9 FM (Nigeria)

The Beat 99.9FM launched their station on Victoria Island in Nigeria on 19 February in style! The station’s on air personalities and great artists such as Sauce Kid, Lynxx, Show Dem Camp,(Soc), General Pype, Sasha and DJs including Jiggs (London's Choice FM), The Beat99.9 FM's DJ Caise and Donaeo entertained guests and had everyone on the dance floor.

People Under The Stairs (Durban, South Africa)

People under the Stairs aka P.U.T.S. were recently in Durban, South Africa, promoting their music. P.U.T.S. is an underground hip hop group from California. composed of two MCs, who are also great DJs. ‘Double K’ performs all of the scratching and cutting on their albums and ‘Thes One’ has become known in the underground hip hop community as a major producer, having worked with J-Live, Giant Panda, and Cut Chemist, among others. The group has released seven albums since their formation in 1997.

Classic Cars in Havana (Cuba)

Classic cars are everywhere in Havana! About 150,000 classic cars existed at the time of the 1959 Cuban Revolution when the U.S. imposed a trade embargo on Cuba. After this, international trade was made very difficult. Many locals have had to learn to maintain and restore the cars they possessed prior to the revolution. This has turned Havana into a classic car fanatic's paradise. Lebo went to find out more about these beautiful classic cars.
