Ghanaian Dancehall sensation Stonebwoy received the award for International Collaboration of the Year at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
"Manodzi" by Stonebwoy, featuring Angelique Kidjo, bagged the award, beating other acts including King Promise, Kuami Eugene, and Sarkodie.
However, it was Stonebwoy's speech upon receiving the award that stood out.
The Dancehall artist, in his rousing speech, said he hoped the song would be a unifying factor between the peoples of 'Togoland' and all people of Ewe descent in Ghana.
"May this award go a very long way to solidify Togoland and the Ewe people of Ghana because all we want is peace and love," he said. "So big respect to the grandmother of African music, Angelique Kidjo, for hopping on a very big collaboration like this with me. Thank you."
