Amid the razzle and dazzle on the red carpet at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, held on Saturday June 1, 2024, Takoradi-based musician, Aya Ramzy B, made a striking appearance.

The artiste who was nominated in the Unsung category at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards (GMA), turned heads when he came on the red carpet donning a maroon suit adorned with dozens of condoms meticulously arranged across the front of the suit.

In an interview with GhanaWeb’s Elsie Lamar, Aya Ramzy B explained the symbolism of his outfit, stating, “This means protection, so I'm trying to tell my fans to protect themselves, both spiritually and physically. Protect yourself. AIDs is real. Protect yourself. As for me, I'm already protected.”

TGMA 2024

The TGMA was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 1, 2024, where musicians were awarded for their works over the past year.

In March 2024, the Ghana Music Award Academy Board announced the nominees for the 25th TGMA, featuring categories such as Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.

The Ghana Music Academy Board is composed of professionals from all sectors of the music industry, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers, ensuring a diverse and well-rounded judging panel.
