Terry Bonchaka's 'Boys' Dealt Raw Deal?

Terry Bonchaka IT WAS like a dream when news made the rounds that the public relations officer for the late hip-life giant, and crowd- puller, Terry Bonchaka, had been sidelined by those handling the late hip-life star's work, on the market.

Since the death of Terry Bonchaka, none of his workers, including his PRO, has benefited from the seed they helped the hip-life star to sow.

I was sad when Terry's PRO, and King Ayisoba, were sidelined when Terry's mother was presented with a cheque for 17 million cedis being the gate proceeds from a musical concert organised in honour of Terry who passed away through a road motor accident on October 31, last year.

The musical concert was organised for the mother of the late hip-life artiste by Radio Gold, with support from TV3, and the National Theatre on November 15, at the National Theatre, in honour of the late hip-life artiste.

In all, an amount of 36 million cedis was realised from the gate proceeds, out of which 19 million cedis went into production costs, with the remaining 17 million cedis, in addition to products from Baron Distillers, being presented to the mother of the late hip-life star.

During the donation, many, including myself, were expecting that those who worked with Terry would have a fair share of the cake.

I was sad to learn that those who worked tirelessly with Terry, when he was alive have not been given a pesewa from the proceeds of Terry's achievements, in which they played vital roles.

In this regard, mention must be made of Regan Mends, Terry's PRO, and King Ayisoba, who worked assiduously with Terry Bonchaka.

Many music fans, including his friends, were shocked and could not believe their ears when they happened on the story that Terry's PRO and King Ayisoba did not receive a pesewa from those who organised events in honour of Terry.

One sad thing is that Regan Mends abandoned his profession in favour of Terry, and he was, without doubt, the right-hand man of Terry, and who made all the rounds for Terry, and his immense contributions were appreciated by all, including the family of Terry.

I know, by now, Terry's body would be turning, because his boys are being denied access of their share of the cake, which they baked together.

When I contacted Regan Mends on the issue, he nearly wept. He, however, refused to comment on the issue, stressing that he should be given time, since he was then busy working on a project.
