Ghanaian preacher and singer, Sonnie Badu, has expressed his disappointment at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a post shared on Instagram on November 19, 2024, the "Baba" hitmaker noted that the Black Stars game with Niger, which ended in a 2:1 defeat against the Black Stars of Ghana, was embarrassing and painful to watch.
"It’s both embarrassing and painful to watch—I’m truly at a loss for words. To @ghana_fa_official, thank you for letting us down," he said.
Sonnie Badu also noted that the Black Stars players are not happy with the current situation happening at their camp.
"I hear the players are unhappy, and at this rate, you’ll soon be begging people to show up. When that happens, it’ll just be you and your family left," he added.
His comments come on the back of the recent Black Stars game with Niger where the Black Star players were defeated by 2:1 on November 18, 2024.
Ghana ended their 2025 AFCON qualifiers as one of the worst-performing teams in the series.
The four-time African champions joined Eswatini, Chad, Madagascar, and Namibia as the five countries failed to record a single win.
Black Stars recorded three losses and three draws in six games including two home defeats to Angola and Niger.
