The Bibini Studios at Napoleon Club, Osu, has been taken over by four children of the owner, Mr. Faisal Helwani, who is retiring from music production after 40 years in the business.
The new owners and proprietors are Yasmeen (a star singer, songwriter and graduate of Business Economics, Canada), Bassam (a sound engineer, agric-scientist and graduate of Cape Vars), Wasseem (a college graduate of Canada, sound engineer and music performer) and Waleed (a second-year KNUST student, musician, songwriter, sound engineer and graphic artiste).
The new generation of Bibini Music publishers will jointly manage the newly equipped ultra-modern studio. And to mark the 40th anniversary of Bibini Music, the studio is offering to record the demos of young and talented artistes for the next 90 days, whether they want to record highlife, hiplife, R&B, gospel reggae or raga.
The studio will however not enter into any production deal with the artistes. They are however, free to send their demos to look for producers and executive producers or financiers to help them release.
Mr. Faisal Helwani told Spectator Arts that his children will also engage in album production and the production of materials for films and documentary sound tracks, CD mastering and duplication and cassette-to-cassette duplication.
He said the studio has a Rhythm Bank with quality production by Faisal Helwani over 40 years available for advertisement purposes and that artistes can also book the studio, record and take away their masterpiece.
Faisal concluded that his daughter Yasmeen will be the Marketing and Public Director of the studio. He (Faisal) will only be a consultant to the new owners.
