The Emergence of Ruky

After many educational delays, Ruky, a new sensation in the hiplife game has finally released his debut titled ‘The Project and I bet a lot hiplife lovers that it would be the first debut album of Ruky to enter the charts very soon.

Ruky defines his album as “a hot album with clean lyrics, no profanity, which will take him to the international level because it has hiplife and hip hop songs which cuts across in terms of music in Ghana. You buy the album, you support a project”.

The 10-track album so far has been greeted well in Central Region and Takoradi and will soon go nationwide. The album consists of two hiphop songs with Beular Makeita and a South African R&B artiste based in Germany. His reason for featuring them is to cross the borders of Ghana. Other artistes who also featured on the album are Castro, Screw face, Shilo and Adja Bomofuo.

Ruky delivers the warm, feel-good song titled “Kai.” The song was engineered by Jay Q and features Castro, Shilo and Screw face. Ruky gets serious on “Lonely Girl,” as Shilo and Screw face lament the negative life choices some women make.

He began his rap career as a hiphop artiste at shows like Kiddafest, GUNSA, Source 98 and more. He got his start with a group called Shock Clan but later bowed out of the group to pursue his solo career. For a while, his parents did not like the idea of him doing music but they have now.

Born Farouk Khailann, Ruky (pronounced Rookie), he might be the first hiplife artiste who has set up an NGO to support education in Ghana. Ruky’s “RUKY EDUCATION AND LITERACY PROJECT” is a Non Governmental Organization based in the Central Region. Ruky is being managed by Andy Adisi.

With time, Ruky will gain the attention of Ghanaian music lovers across the world and will soon be on the world music map.
