The Industry doesn't recognize me - Iwan complains bitterly

Iwan Iwan

Award winning reggae and dancehall sensation Iwan has poured his heart out this morning on Accra based radio Pluzz Fm on the AM Pluzz show hosted by Sammy Flex.

According to the "Who Is Bad" hitmaker, it is necessary the industry gives veneration to music forerunners of his kind.

He mentioned that, he (Iwan) was the new generation of dancehall in Ghana and hence needs to be recognized.

"I was the first artiste to sing dancehall in English and to make a hit. I was the first dancehall artiste to win Ghana Music Awards. People didn't even know the music called dancehall till we enlightened them. Don't give my props to others, because we did the underground dirty work", he uttered.

Iwan insisted that the industry has not been fair to him because currently, he forms part of the least talked about dancehall acts in Ghana.

"DJ's don't play my songs, they don't call me for shows, people don't recognize me", he spoke out of emotions.

When asked whether there was a feud between himself and other artistes like Samini, the reggae/dancehall champ responded positively but unveiled people have planned purportedly to bring him down.

He again added that he has problems with his temperaments which he will soon work on.

Iwan is yet to unleash his "Gaskiya Is Truth" album on his birthday 12th September 2016.

The album which has a tally of 12 songs is said to be a mix of Dancehall and Hip Life.
