Veteran Highlife musician George Jahraa has voiced his support for an amendment to the constitution of Ghana.
In an interview on Adom FM, the 'Ashikele' hitmaker argued that the Constitution grants excessive power and freedom to the President.
Jahraa described Ghana's current system as a 'constitutional dictatorship,' claiming that the Constitution primarily protects those in power rather than promoting the development of the people.
"A soldier drafted our Constitution, so I see it as a constitutional dictatorship. It gives free will to whoever is president,” he said.
He called for an amendment to introduce more checks and balances.
“We need to amend it to ensure more checks and balances. It’s more like free will. I won’t resist the temptation of telling you I told you so," Jahraa stated.
