Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has addressed the backlash surrounding an error-ridden press statement issued by his team.

Recently the Kumawood actor encountered significant criticism from netizens on social media following the statement from his Public Relations Officer (PRO) announcing his hiatus from his radio tour in Kumasi.

But reacting to this, LilWin has established that the grammatical errors were deliberately included in the statement, adding that they were intended to generate public interest.

LilWin explained that following the premiere of his film 'A Country Called Ghana' at the National Theatre, the lack of media coverage prompted him to adopt this strategy to stimulate discussions about the movie.

Expressing disappointment at the negative feedback received on social media, LilWin questioned why people are more inclined to respond to adverse news rather than highlight the positive aspects.

"Negativity spreads rapidly. Despite completing the Accra premiere of the movie [A Country Called Ghana] and with the Kumasi premiere on the horizon, it appears the media's attention has waned, possibly due to the location. I purposely instructed my management to draft a statement with grammatical errors to gauge the reaction of Ghanaians.

"As anticipated, my PRO faced ridicule on social media, with accusations of incompetence. However, who can rival the intellect of Weezy Empire? The aim was to generate interest in the movie," he explained in Twi in a video shared by EDHUB on X.

He maintains that despite public skepticism about their intellectual capacity, his PRO is skilled and intelligent.
