The mason’s breakthrough into the music industry

I wonder why most musician have to remain underground or feature other artistes before been able to make it in the music industry but maybe they all have their reasons or maybe those in the industry can bear me out.

Nana Boateng who has been an underground hilife singer for the past 15 years is finally out with his first album titled, Yaa Donkor.

Nana Boateng in an interview with the Weekly Fylla said he thinks singing is a gift given to him by God since childhood but has not been able to come out with his album for the past 15 years because his other profession, (mason) keeps pulling his legs thereby not having the chance to record till now and he thinks its time to exhibit his talent.

Nana Boateng’s album, Yaa Donkor, has 10 tracks featuring Nsamanpom and Odifo Patoa.

The album has hit tracks like: Yaa Donkor, Odo Eni Niaa Ni Hu Akodimu, and the controversial track Ekom Nti Wusi Wuye Sofo which is about fake pastors who only think the best way to feed their bellies and to make it in life is through church business.

This is my first time hearing a hilife singer speak ill about fake pastors and I bet you I like that because this church business is becoming rampant in our days making it very difficult to identify the God chosen pastors.

Yaa Donkor is the most hitting track on the album, it’s an old hilife song but has been remixed and fused with a new rhythm and is currently receiving video airplay at GTV and Net 2.

The album was recorded by Canada, a sound engineer in Lapaz and produced by Papa K, a presenter at Top Radio103.1.

Nana Boateng added that “songs of recent times are too hot for the aged to dance with so I think to make the aged recall memories of their youth it quite good to bring back the old tunes they used to dance with”.

The Yaa Donkor album will be launched next month (October) and fans of Nana Boateng are edged to grab copies for the aged and loved ones.
