Ghana-based beauty and makeup blogger, Ruth Nartey, has bagged a nomination at the upcoming 2019 Ghana Makeup Awards, an award scheme that celebrates professionals and upcoming talent within the makeup industry.
Her blog BeatByIbukun has been nominated in the “Makeup Blog of the Year” category for carrying in-depth news covering the makeup industry in Ghana as well as sharing makeup tips and reviews to beauty enthusiasts all around the world.
“In recent times, makeup has become a burgeoning industry in Ghana. However, there is a great gap between getting industry news about Ghanaian beauty brands or favourite makeup artists to consumers and enthusiast. This was what led me to start “BeatbyIbukun” to share information about the makeup industry, share tips and reviews to makeup enthusiasts like me and in my way contribute the growing industry of makeup in Ghana. I am honoured to be recognised for what I am doing,” says Ruth Nartey, who is also a communications coordinator at a boutique digital marketing firm, WaxPrint Media and has moderated several beauty events.
Her blog which was created in 2018 has featured top Ghanaian beauty brands and makeup artists such as ColorBox Cosmetics, SO Aesthetics, Evita Joseph and Sandra Don Arthur.
Ruth who has also worked with international brands including Ghana’s leading European fashion outlet, Numero Uno and leading photographers and videographers will join seventy-one official award nominees who were shortlisted from over one hundred and thirty-seven nominations across all the categories at the award ceremony.
Founded in 2017, Ghana Makeup Awards has rewarded and celebrated pioneers and professionals in the makeup industry including Actress, Zynell Zuh, Sandra Don Arthur, founder of Alexandrina Makeup Artistry, Evita Joseph Asare, CEO of Evita Joseph. The 3rd edition of the award show will take place May 11th at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
