Ghanaian comedian, Derrick Kobina Bonney popularly known as DKB has opened up to ABC News Ghana on why he wants to personally meet with the president of the nation, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Readers will recall that the ‘headmaster’ of comedy in Ghana had appealed to the President at the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Presidential Grand Ball to grant him audience at the Flagstaff House to talk about Ghana’s entertainment industry, with focus on comedy.
In an interview with ABC News Ghana, DKB revealed that his meeting with the President is to seek administrative support to access facilities that will enable comedians in Ghana take comedy to other regions of the country.
According to him, he intends drawing government’s attention to the need for the creation of more event and cultural centers across the country so as to allow for the arts and entertainment industry replicate programs across the country.
He adds that his hope is for government to make some time slots available on government owned media platforms to help promote comedy in the country.
