Ghanaian stylist and blogger, Violet N.A Bannerman Obeng popularly known as Akosua Vee is the latest victim of social media criticism following her recent marriage to musician/comedian Kwame A-Plus.
When most couples receive felicitations and goodwill after their wedding, this is not the case of the stylist who has worked with the likes of Nana Ama Mcbrown, Bibi Bright, Doreen Andoh and several A-listers in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
A-plus and Akosua Vee tied the knot over the weekend and the bride walked the aisle in a ball gown with a vintage theme which was made by Ghanaian designer, Ophelia Crossland.
The ivory gown which came with a cathedral length train also boasted of french lace, a brocade designed with beautiful butterflies applique with Swarovski Crystals as embellishment.
However, the look didn’t seem to go well with Ghanaians netizens and a number of online publications who have criticised her choice of wedding gown calling it an “apron” whiles others imitated that the gown was humongous and perhaps not the right choice for her body type. With some going to the extend of calling the fabric cheap amongst other claims.
But others think she nailed it as the rest didn’t see the need for such a fuss
And her final answer to haters was what sealed the deal
The debate may continue on social media and I’m really not here for any side of the coin but let’s just remember that its her wedding, she paid for the gown and enjoyed wearing it.
Sadly a post by even Anna Wintour of all persons or any other publication won’t change the fact that she’s married to the man of her dreams and probably enjoying another bout of sex right now on her honeymoon.
So maybe we should be drinking loads of chilled water and minding our business.
