Veteran actor, William Addo aka “Akpakye” who is currently suffering from glaucoma and cataract on both eyes in an interview with Nana Addo on E-update on Angel television has revealed that the fact that he was denied help from getting money for his surgery by the Ghana’s Actors Guild which he is part of as a pioneer and also the ministry of tourism culture and art which he worked for some years makes him feel very hurt.
He said they have not supported him in anyway as long as his eye is concerned.
He complained that not even a cedi has come from them to support him but rather they think and say that he has been helped by others to get the amount for his surgery which cost Gh5,000 therefore any other money that will be given to him would be for the enrichment of himself.
William Addo also disclosed that he has spent more than the money he was able to raise for his surgery and apart from the surgery, he has spent over Gh6,000 on his drugs and other things related to his eye.
He went ahead to plead with Ghanaians to keep supporting him as he looks forward to go for the next surgery on the other eye when the first one is completely healed.
