Louis Kwame Sakyiamah better known as Lexis Bill has divulged that having Bola Ray as his predecessor who paved the way for his taking over the Drive Time Show is heartwarming yet to have him as a competitor hosting a drive time show on Starr FM the same time as he is hosting his on Joy FM is never easy.
According to Mr. Sakyiamah, the ideal situation is to have had Bola Ray retire from radio or switch to another field but be as it may he is doing fine thanks to the years he has gathered in the media and his willingness to learn from his seniors including Bola Ray and his peers.
Lexis Bill made these known when he appeared as guest on the Late Night Celebrity Show hosted by the humorous Giovani Caleb.
“Years of learning and having the passion to carry on whiles being humble and willing to learn has brought me this far” Lexis noted.
Interestingly Lexis opined that he never wished to be in the TV or media fold but had always been a lover of music adding that he got into radio whiles at the Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology stressing that he had to sacrifice a lot of his social life and lectures even when he was a level 100 student.
He said whiles growing up, his dad drummed it into his head to become a lawyer or a doctor and in consonance with his expectations enrolled him at Presec Legon’s primary, JHS and SHS School but eventually grew tired of Accra and enrolled at KNUST graduating with a B.A in Social Science but currently pursuing an MBA at GIMPA.
Lexis Bill was hosting the morning show on Hitz FM but in a shock move was reassigned to host a late night show on sister station Joy FM before being offered the drive time slot after Bola’s departure.
“It was inconveniencing at first, the biggest challenge was my body clock, having to adjust from waking up early to host Daybreak Hitz to working late and waking in the day to prepare for Drive Time” Lexis noted.
Lexis mentioned Tommy Annan Forson, Bola Ray, Kwame Sefa Kayi and Komla Dumor as influencers when it comes to the business of radio whiles singling out Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Woara’ and Afriyie’s ‘Love of my Life’ as well composed songs he cherishes.
The man from Abompe in the Eastern region disclosed that he is single pointing out that he gets stimulated when he encounters a lady who challenges him mentally noting that a fit and attractive lady really turns him on.
The radio host who doubles as a poet also stated that he frowns on the usage of illicit drugs as abundant literature attests to the harmful effects of such substances.
