Trader Granted Bail for Fraud

Emmanuel Paditey, a trader was granted bail last week and is to reappear before the Imoru Ziblim Circuit Court on March 19, on a charge of defrauding a Computer Engineer at Sabon Zongo a suburb of Accra.Two others involved in the deal, Ben (a.k.a) Rashid and Ebo are at large.

Presenting the case to the court, the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector J.K. Adu said in December last year, the accused introduced the complainant to the second and third accused persons as dealers in computer accessories.

On December 12, the two at large took the complainant to Mallam, a suburb of Accra, and showed him three computers. The next day the complainant paid an amount of six thousand dollars for seven computers to the two men.

Inspector Adu said the accused asked the complainant to wait at a particular place while they went for the computers. He waited till evening but the three accused persons never appeared.

Later, the complainant got wind of the hideout of the first accused who was immediately apprehended by the police and arraigned before the Circuit Court.

The first accused led the police to the houses of the second and third accused persons but they had absconded.

The first accused was re-arrested by the police and after investigations he was charged with the offence.
