Trivia pick for the week

I did say sometime back that I do believe Hitz FM is losing focus but I just love what Papa Destiny and Michael Quayeson (Candy man) are doing on the station.

Papa Destiny plays good old burger highlife rhythms to make our mid mornings bright. I just love his selection of music and though he keeps repeating them almost everyday, they still sound fresh in my ears. He doesn’t talk much on the show but I love his voice and the various Ghanaian languages he speaks on air.

Kudos Destiny. Mr. Candy man takes us on a cruise in the late afternoons as he dishes out good old skuul foreign music. I also love his silky voice. These two are great presenters on Hitz FM and they keep my ears glued to the set. Keep it up.

Trust me, I just cannot bring myself to think that a presenter from an urban or English-speaking station would move to a local station and excel there.

All the urban presenters I know shift from one urban to another urban station and some have even confessed to me that they cannot see themselves performing too well at local stations like the Twi speaking ones.

But isn’t a broadcaster supposed to be versatile and fit anywhere? That is just a question…has Nana Kwame moved from Vibe to Atlantis? I will find out…Why can’t he move to Peace or Asempa or Hot…He won’t fit in there I guess… There is this kind of disparity between the urban stations and their presenters and the local stations and their presenters…Think about it…not interesting but that is why it is called a trivia.

Anita Erskine is out of TV3 studio B as presenter of both “Looking For Love” and “Mentor 3”. She did very well with her job and I hear she is back to her pots and pans at Origin 8 and Studio 53.

Well, “Looking For Love” is yet to bounce back again on TV3 very soon as I gathered from the station and this time around, they need a new face in a presenter to keep the show lively. They believe people will feel bored and complain if Anita is still used for that slot but I disagree totally. Anyway, Nana Akua of Citi FM, I gathered, has been chosen to compere the show.

I have been wondering where Josy of TV3’s Music Music is. The young lady brightened our screens alongside Bola Ray and Stacy on the weekend entertainment variety show but has been missing in action for some months now.

I inquired from her first place of work which is Channel R but my sources there said they haven’t heard from her for about three months now.

She couldn’t even be reached on phone and no one seems to know where she is. I want answers, Paa Kwasi….. Oh; Paa Kwasi is the almighty producer of Music Music, in case you did not know.
