What the soul, pop and jazz goddess, Stephanie Benson is to the international scene is a woman of substance, a music sensation of a rare form, an entrepreneur with the world at heart and an icon the average feminine looks up to.

Ghanaian born Stephanie Akua Ohenewaa takes vehement pride in putting the country on the world’s map, the most glamorous way, the most numerous way.

As a successful singer and song writer, her career has seen a phenomenal uphill motion, starting at 14 as a pianist and soloist. The past 2 decades have included her appearance on prestigious stages in the Europe and USA.

When her music career story is told, it is climaxed with her collaboration with world big heads such as Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Andy Hill, Terry Britton, Danny Schogger, Andy Jane, Bruce Smith, Rob Davis etc. Benson’s life as a cabaret artiste has won her heart’s, landed her enviable sign-ups and got her top nominations and honours.

She runs a self-owned record label in London, Benson Music Ltd & Production Company. Among other things she produces and stars in her own the theatre show, “Reflections” (for the BBC). The BEPI Institute, a multimedia academy which grooms in vocals, instruments, dance lessons, music management etc has been running under her ownership for the past 2 years in Ghana.

As a music heavyweight, she sat on the panel as one of the judges of the Ghana’s Vodafone Icons Diva’s Edition in 2015, an opportunity she used to mentor and groom new acts.

She has championed numerous charity courses in Ghana, the USA, Afghanistan, Brazil through self funding and headlining musical concerts. She funded the NSPCC, Children in Crisis, the Starlight Foundation, SOS Village School, American Forces etc.

Currently her breast cancer awareness for African British beneficiaries is in full flight. This is the life of a compassionate philanthropist willing to redefine the world to the needy.

Stephanie Benson, a married mother of 5 was born to the late Samuel Benson (a pharmaceutical millionaire) and Queen Mother Nana Boahemaah, and is sibling to Highlife singer Akosuah Agyapong.

Stephanie is set to release a joint with rap heavyweight Okyeame Kwame, a project that will become the headlines in our parts. This is a gear-up to a list of her groundbreaking budding music activities this year.

When Britain’s Royal Majesty, Prince Charles commended her at a private performance: “You are one of the most amazing performers I’ve ever seen”, it was a true remark of a talent that transcends beyond the standards, and of a woman whose entirety isn’t explored yet.
