MP-elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has raised some claims over the recent ransacking of the office and residence of outgoing Ablekuma West MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

In a post shared on X on December 11, 2024, A Plus accused the minister of allegedly staging the attack, stating that it could be a ploy to tarnish the image of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and gain public sympathy.

"Ursula Owusu could very well be behind the alleged attacks on her office and residence! It wouldn’t be surprising if it were a scheme to damage the NDC's reputation and gain sympathy," A Plus wrote.

He also questioned why the minister, after serving as Minister of Communications for eight years, deos not have CCTV cameras installed at her office and residence.

"If, after serving as Minister of Communications for eight years, her office and residence still lack CCTV cameras, it speaks volumes about the kind of associates Akufo-Addo worked with, more focused on theatrics than substance. She is capable! it is possible!!" A Plus added.

Background

On Monday, December 9, 2024, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful’s residence and office in the Ablekuma West constituency were allegedly invaded and vandalised by about 15 men.

According to a recent statement from the Ghana Police Service, an investigation into the incident is currently underway, and her security has been beefed up.

The police report also confirmed that several items were stolen during the ransacking, including motorbikes, a pickup vehicle, and a 32-inch Samsung television, among other belongings.
