The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey has pronounced his love for the good music composed by multiple award-winning Highlife artiste George Kwabena Adu aka Kwabena Kwabena.

The CEO of the university who is responsible for providing the strategic direction of the institution and for driving the growth and its development in an interview on Radio Univers on Thursday evening made the avowal.

Prof. Aryeetey on Alumni Hour told the host of the show, Khadijah Abdul-Samed that “that is a big question because the names of entertainers keep changing". when she asked who his favourite entertainers are.

“Today the names of the entertainers keep changing, the change by the week. When you listen to Univers or any station, you find news names coming up and it is difficult to keep up.

Sometimes you remember them largely for how funny the names are because the name reminds you for something. I do like lots of music that I hear today.” The man who was a DJ at Sarbah Hall during his school days at University of Ghana, Legon, however mentioning names of artistes he admires said that “I do like Kwabena Kwabena.

There are a number of them I like also. I do like hip hop. I like hiplife. There are some songs I could dance to when I’m in the good mood. I know that these days everybody knows that “yentie obia” is the thing but “yentia obia” is nice, but there are many other forms of Ghanaian music that I enjoy.”
