VGMA 2019: Sarkodie explains why the security at the venue was weak

The VGMA Artist of the Decade, Sarkodie has explained why the security and other essential things expected at the VGMA 2019 were in a poor state.

Sarkodie’s explanation comes at a time people are wondering how Stonebwoy was able to carry a gun into the auditorium and even went as carrying the gun unto the VGMA stage.

People are also wondering how Shatta Wale and his gang were able to break protocol and moved to the VGMA Stage uninvited and cause confusion at ease not to talk of the chairs he destroyed on his way out of the auditorium.

According to Sarkodie in a series of tweets, things were planned very well by Charterhouse prior to the night with the help of corporate sponsors. Everything was well taken care of until some corporate sponsors pulled out of the promise at the last minute.

Sarkodie explained that Charterhouse had to take the additional pressure on themselves which resulted in the few lapses in the organization including the poor security that was seen yesterday.

Some of his tweets read:

I felt for my brother George Quaye … He was running around each and every day trying to get sponsors on to support this year’s celebration but he wasn’t able to secure enough

They really wanted to go all out but last minute a lot of sponsors pulled out … Those who made promises, broke them so Charterhouse had to take pressure on themselves

From the look of things, Charterhouse will definitely pay very critical attention at the security of the VGMA in subsequent years.
