Head of production for Charter House, Nii Ayite Hammond has debunked rumors indicating that the prize money meant for award winners at this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is ready.

"Actually I don't think the money is ready and yes the musicians who won awards are yet to receive their prize money which we are frantically working on. I will let you know when it is ready", Nii Ayite told Reagan Mends of razzonline.com

The VGMA prize money is an incentive to the award winners for being present at the ceremony and not necessarily for winning.

Per the VGMA terms and conditions, the Prize money attached to the awards would only be paid to artistes that were present at the awards ceremony and received their award{s} personally.

Hiplife/Hip Hop superstar EL,who was crowned overall artiste of the year is entitled to a cash prize of GHC10,000 with each winner of a category getting GHC3,000.00.

This year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards took place at the Accra International conference centre on 7th May.
