Ghanaian gospel artiste Joe Mettle has won the award for Best Vocal Male Artist of the Year at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony held on Saturday April 11, 2012.

The event dubbed “Ignited by Passion and Powered by 25 million fans”” was arguably the biggest show on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar.

Joe Mettle won for his delivery of his new track ‘Turning Around’.

Also in that category with him were three of the nation’s best, Afriyie for his song ‘I Do’, KODA for ‘Nkwa Abodoo’, Daddy Lumba for ‘Nee Woho Bet) Wo’.

Born Joseph Oscar Mettle to God-fearing parents, Joe begun playing drums and then started showing signs of becoming a music prodigy at a tender age of eight. His passionate love for African rhythms was touching and reflected in his music influence hence the style that defines him now even though there is always the bit of contemporary dimension to it.

He has become one of the most sought after praise and worship ministers, often labelled as Ghana’s gospel praise King having headlined many gospel concerts.

Once a member of legendary gospel group, Soul Winners, the now solo artiste distinguished himself as a unique vocalist with dynamic abilities.

Mettle is a notable gospel music minister who has ministered on the same stage with world renowned gospel artistes such as Don Moen, Israel Houghton, Micah Stampley, Alvin slaughter, Sonnie Badu and Cece Winans.
