At the 19th VGMAs, currently taking place at the Bronya boys, Wutah, have picked up the laurel for Group of the Year. The award crowns a fantastic comeback by the due, who chalked massive waves with Anamontuo (2006) –an exceptional debut album with which they impressed upon the ears of all, that they had superstar quality.
4×4 member, Captain Planet, has also won Video of the Year for accompanying visuals to “Obi Agye Obi Girl”, which was directed by GYO of Phamous Philms, and published under CAP Music.
Joe Mettle records a third win at the awards, upsetting the likes of Samini, King Promise, KiDi, and Kuami Eugene to win Best Male Vocalist of the Year.
Compered by Berla Mundi and Jon Dumelo, VGMA 2018 is a Charterhouse Ghana production. It is sponsored by telecoms giant Vodafone. Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Shatta Wale, and late songstress, Ebony Reigns are all in the running for the coveted award of Artist of the Year.
Adina maintains her reign as the nation’s favourite female singer, as she walked home with the “Best Female Vocalist of the Year” award.
