Multiple award-winning rapper, Kwaw Kese, the ‘Na ya tal’ hitmaker has disclosed in an interview with Hitz FM that he didn’t submit his works for consideration at this year’s VGMAs because to him, VGMAs is no big deal.
Kwaw Kese again added that getting VGMAs plaque doesn’t bring money and now he has a family to cater for, school fees to pay and more so he’s now concentrated on making music for money but not awards.
When asked whether he submitted entries for this year’s VGMAs, he said, “I have forgotten about VGMA. I’ve not submitted any music for an award. Sometimes you submit the work and the results don’t come out good. I am thinking about making lots of money to take care of my family and brand”. He continued,
“Stonebwoy won VGMAs and he went on to win the BETs. EL also won the VGMAs but didn’t even receive BETs nominations. If VGMA gives you the recognition and you don’t work your way to the top, you will not make money…if you don’t work yourself up, forget it. I’m all about money now so I can pay the fees of my kid”.
