Van Vicker Denies Forming Screen Actors Guild In Ghana

The first time reports were heard about the formation of the screen Actors Guild [S.A.G] there were clear indications that it will be a nine day wonder because the one, who brought the whole idea Van Vicker, was not able to spell out the main aims and objectives of the association.

Media people present were informed that the association will serve as a society which will help to solve the problems of actors who are always seen on screen. This was because they felt their problems were far different from the problems of the movie markers like FIPAG and the rest, so they did not see the reason to be having the same meetings with them.

After their first meeting, the question that Remained in peoples minds was that, if the association is being formed with the motive of helping solve the problems of screen actors then why was it that the actors who attended the meeting were mostly those who travel to Nigeria to shoot movies

Even as the Ghana Nigeria Rivalry continues to be hovering on our necks, information gathered from close sources is that they are no more meeting as they started in the early stages

In a phone interview with Van Vicker who many claim is the brain behind the association, he told flex news paper that he never formed the Screen Actors Guild nor brought any idea like that but during a meeting to help solve the Ghana Nigeria Impasse, Most of the Movie stars present suggested that they should form an Association but after the meetings, he traveled so he has no idea about what transpired.

The only advice I have for them is that they should not forget that if really they want to form the screen Actors Guild, then they should not forget the Twi Film makers like Agya Koo, Kyeiwa, Mercy Asiedu and co because they are mainly seen on the screen, Unless they redefine the name to be English Screen Actors Guild “He writes
