... Says he has been starved of sex for 4 months
Miss Ellen Boateng, a marketing officer of the NATIONAL Security Sponsored newspaper, The Vanguard has stated categorically that the editor of the paper, Mr. Edson Osbert Lartey attempted to rape her on April 27, 2004.
She re-levelled this allegation against the editor last Monday during RADIO GOLD newspaper review hosted by Mr.Johnson.
Miss Boateng, speaking intelligently and intelligibly also stated that to quickly make right his evil, Osbert pretending to have been sorry, set her up and then had the BNI swoop down on her to arrest her.
Explaining the circumstances under which she was set up, Miss Boateng explained that some months ago, Osbert Lartey told her that he (Osbert) had been starved of sex for four months by his wife.
Then in the morning of April 27, she reported to work very early to find Mr. Osbert Lartey sleeping in his inner room. (The office is divided into two. One part serves as an office and the other as a resting room for Osbert).
Miss Boateng said she began to clear the office only to be interrupted by the editor who asked her to join him in his room but she refused. He then grabbed her and attempted to rape her. X
The story first appeared in The Searchlight, a weekly newspaper. According to the Searchlight, Osbert denied the allegation when contacted.
Then in last Monday's issue of The Vanguard, edited by Osbert himself, the editor edited a news item written by one Gabriel Marfo, an intern under the heading Police Demanded ?20m from me.
In the story, Osbert denied attempting to rape Miss Boateng and claimed that the young lady was trying to exort money from him.
On the RADIO GOLD interview, Miss Boateng denied trying to exort money from Osbert and stated clearly that the editor really tried to rape her and later offered her ?5 million so that she could remain quiet only for the same Osbert to turn round, report the matter to the BNI to have her arrested.
For the records, another senior journalist, an editor is on record to have raped a young lady many years ago. The editor, who is now close to the NPP government like Osbert, is currently one of the spokesmen of the NPP.
The NPP itself is soaked in several sexual scandals with the President, the Minister for Roads and transport the Deputy Minister for the Interior, the Deputy Minister for Information leading the mark.
