Friends and family vented their rage and sorrow, unleashing curses in response to the brutal manner their beloved, Wyllbee was ‘innocently’ lynched.

The moment Wyllbee’s father broke down, rained curses on his son’s killers

Wyllbee’s father, who also served as the pastor officiating the service, struggled to contain his emotions during his sermon.

Overwhelmed with grief, he paused, reached for a bottle of water, and directed curses at his son’s killers.

“Anyone responsible for my son’s death, my father, my father,” he cried, lifting the bottle, “let them die whenever they drink water. May they choke on it! Let all the evil spirits of the world descend upon them. Just as you sent evil spirits to hunt Saul, I invoke your word and call upon all spirits to torment those who took my son from me.”

He continued, “Whenever they eat or drink, let it turn to poison. As I lay my son to rest today, I bury his killers as well.”

Nana Yaa’s sex life cursed

Asides from hurling death wishes and curses on her, another family member seized the microphone during the funeral and directed a different type of curse at Nana Yaa, the main suspect in Wyllbee’s murder.

She urged Wyllbee to ensure that Nana Yaa would never enjoy intimacy with another man till she dies.

“Wyllbee don’t allow her to have a peaceful sex life or enjoy sex with anyone while you are gone. Make sure she suffers in every way,” she fumed.

Curses at the graveside

As Wyllbee’s remains were transported from the funeral site to the cemetery, friends and family hurled curses at Nana Yaa and her family throughout the journey.

As his casket was lowered in the grave, they called for vengeance against everyone connected to Nana Yaa, including her husband and his relatives.

They demanded that Wyllbee takes drastic action against all who participated in his lynching.

Background:

Reports indicated that Wyllbee was killed in Abuakwa-Tanoso, Ashanti Region while staying overnight at Nana Yaa Nyarko’s residence, a property reportedly owned by her 'abroad-based' husband’s family, who were unaware of Wyllbee’s presence.

According to initial accounts, on July 5, 2024, Wyllbee was seen urinating in the compound and was confronted by residents who suspected him of being a thief.

Wyllbee allegedly claimed he visited Nana Yaa, but she purportedly denied knowing him, to protect her marriage from her in-laws.

This denial led to suspicion and accusations of theft among the neighbours, resulting in Wyllbee being lynched.

Reports also mentioned that Wyllbee's phone was destroyed with a stone during the incident.
