Veteran Ghanaian actor, Brew Riverson Jnr who announced last year that he has no intentions of acting again as his passion has waned down says he sees Majid Michel as a versatile actor as compared to 4play actor, John Dumelo.
The actor in an interview with Multimedia’s MzGee disclosed he is not an ardent follower of the Ghanaian movie industry but judging from the few times he has seen Majid and Dumelo on screens, he will choose the former over the latter.
Brew Riverson Jnr, one of Ghana’s favourite actors in the ‘80s through the ‘90s explained during the chat that he likes people who are protean.
“I have not followed the industry that keenly but there are a few times I have seen him (Majid). I’ve also seen Dumelo and he is good but my top is Majid. I will give it to him (Majid).
When it comes to a role, the understanding is what fascinates me all the time. I don’t know but I’m drawn to people who play versatile and are able to convince me”
He also commended movie producer Socrate Safo for his constant controversies before releasing a movie. To him, the controversy boosts sales of the movie.
“During my time, marketing a movie was a problem but somebody like Socrate Safo makes noise with his movies and gets them out there. Its one thing doing it (movie) and it’s another thing selling it.” Brew Riverson Jnr told MzGee.
Brew Riverson Jnr, is currently a lecturer at the Theater Arts department of the University of Education, Winneba.
